Commissions and Partnerships

Noor Theatre’s Commissioning Initiative was created in order to help build the canon of work by artists of Middle Eastern and North African (MENA) descent within theatre and across mediums. Noor is proud to partner with prestigious foundations, theaters, universities and institutions to co-present exciting, unknown work to a wider audience, including commissions like Dead Are My People, work by our Artists Advancing Cultural Change Cohort, and more.

48 Hour
Forum

Noor's annual forty-eight hour play festival where a diverse roster of artists are invited to spin our most talked about Middle Eastern-themed news events into humorous, incisive "theatrical op-eds." Taking place each May, five playwrights, five directors, and a company of actors gather over 48 hours in a race to create theater as fast as a news cycle. An audience favorite.
